27. Hungary Sakura Cup – 2022

Hungary Sakura Cup 2022 results

The 27th edition of the Hungary Sakura Cup was a great success at many levels.

It had a record number of participants (160 competitors) from 30 clubs from 9 countries. This year Georgia, Serbia, Slovenia, Poland, Romania, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic and Hungary took part in the tournament. The event’s highlight was that 110 children and junior competitors were in the event. Due to the large turnout, the event had to have four courts. It has not only grown in the number of participants, but also two additional categories were introduced. The tournament also had the honour of hosting H.E. Mr Masato Ohtaka, the Japanese Ambassador. Mr Ohtaka enjoyed the event and was happy to see many young kendokas practising in Central-Eastern Europe.

It was a fantastic event after a long break of two years and a great way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Budapest Főnix Kendo és Iaido Klub.
